That logo…

Well, I was complaining that Musk was somehow stuck in the 50s, but it seems things change. He renamed Twitter to X. Now calling things X is not a thing from the 50s. The letter X was used for unknown things since at least 1895, when Röntgen called the unknown radiation, X-radiation.

When I was a kid, there was a TV show called Temps-X, which translates to time-X, this was hosted by Bogdanoff twins and basically a gob-load of nonsense you would find on any conspiracy theory web-site these days. Anyway calling a social network X kind of makes it the mystery social network, which given Musk’s take on moderation, is a bit meta if you ask me. Oh, well…

With the renaming came a new logo, and it felt very familiar, because it is basically the logo of the X Windows System, which was released in 1984, 39 years ago. You would think that you could something a bit more original for a company that was bought for 44 billion dollars, but hey…
