
While I often play video-games, I’m hardly a gamer, I like to play old school RTS games like OpenRA, but I’m usually way too interested in building to handle the combat properly. Which is why Townscaper was an good discovery for me.
It is not a game you can win, you just build a town in the middle of sea. The look is relaxing, you can change the lighting, take pictures, so birds land on the roof of houses, there is the gentle sound of the sea. That’s it. Contemplative lego bricks if you will. The only vaguely geeky feature is that ability to export the town as a 3D model (.obj
file).
That’s it, a nice relaxing game you can get of steam, it runs well on my old Mac.
